There is nothing I love in the classroom more than a great, engaging, & fun project! You know, the kind where kids BEG you to take their work home, to stay in from recess? Here are a few of my favorites?
- Soda Straw Rockets: After testing their rocket design, students work on graphing. We also determined our mean, median, mode, maximum, and minimum. Data analysis, paper rockets, and FUN!
- Trading Spaces Webquest: A great project that brings area, perimeter, and money to real life.
- Roller Coaster Design: There are so many great roller coaster simulations online. Why not build REAL ones from cardboard tubes and masking tape?
- Book Trailers: Take comprehension to a whole new level by asking students to defend their position on a great book.
- Oreo Project: A fun way to learn about averages and data.
