Okay…I cannot ignore the ginormous boxes of folders as I enter WalMart, nor the colorful aisles of crayons and markers. It’s about THAT time of year! I think it’s official…summer is winding down.
Setting up my classroom is one of my favorite parts of the year. For once, my desktop is clean and tidy. The floors are freshly waxed. My head is chucked full of ideas I hope to implement. There is wind in my sails. The promise of a new group of kids and the happiness when my old ones return, a little taller, for another year together. Ahhhhh, it’s almost fall.
I’m getting ready to decorate two classrooms and making some big plans for our fall curriculum. I know the year ahead of me is going to be a full one… but, I’m ready to get started. Today, I’m going to check out a few of my favorite thrift shops, head to pick up some posters, (that I’ve shared here), and tomorrow I’m heading to a professional development day on Assessment for Learning.
Next week, I’ll squeeze in a few more days of summer.
What’s your favorite part of back to school?
