Learning is possible without passion. But, really, that’s like having a theme park without rides. The intense excitement, the fun exploration, the natural curiosity? Passion brings those things to the table. The teacher’s passion becomes the catalyst for igniting fires in the learning. The student’s passion fans the flames.
Learning can be simple. Straightforward. Easy. Learning can also be boring.
But it doesn’t have to be. Learning can also be miraculous, explosive, fantastic, awe-inspiring, and amazing. It can be a hard journey with an ending that opens your eyes to new ideas. Learning can light up your mind with a million wonders and connect your thoughts with little bridges.
Not every one is passionate about every thing. But, every one is passionate about something. When we value a student’s passion, we value who they are. That’s when learning truly comes alive, for us all.
