What if money was no object, state testing moved out of the way, and NCLB and all it’s effects were GONE? (I know, a girl can dream, right?) What would be the perfect situation for reaching higher level learners in schools? I’m talking about the kids identified “gifted”, the kids considered 2E (Twice-exceptional), the kids who miss qualifying for a gifted program by a few points, but you know they need it…. all of those kids. I’ve been reading research for hours lately. Pull-out programs. Self-Contained. Cluster Grouping. But one thing is missing, is ANY school in America REALLY meeting ALL kids needs?
So, please, respond… describe the perfect situation to reach higher level learners and gifted students in your school. What would you do?
